THE SCIENCE OF CONSCIOUSNESS WITHOUT AN OBJECT

Talks

Thomas McFarlane is this year’s Keynote Speaker. He says about his talk: Empirical science is commonly understood as providing knowledge of the laws governing objects in a physical universe that exists independent of consciousness. According to Wolff, however, physical objects are not self-existent substances. Instead, nondual Consciousness is the original, self-existent reality that is constitutive of all things, and objects are regions of relative unconsciousness. This radical inversion implies a new understanding of the nature of science, what we might call a philosophy of science without an object. Drawing from Wolff’s Experience and Philosophy and Transformations in Consciousness, this presentation will explore from a nondual perspective the meaning of science as well as the notions of space, time, and law that rest at the foundation of both science and our experience of the relative world.

Doroethy Leonard—This year I wish to share my life as it unfolded in the presence of Franklin and Grandmother (Sherifa). There are many interesting, happy and eventful memories, but now I wish to focus on their spiritual mentorship with me personally. Throughout my life I’ve had “third force” experiences that Franklin and/or Grandmother mentored through my ‘imperience’.

Ron Leonard—Advancing Franklin’s Work: I will define Franklin’s Work (to facilitate Fundamental Realization, or Enlightenment), his unique approach to a universal goal, and how his successors continue to advance this Work…including my own personal story.

Schedule

Thursday evening, following dinner, we shall gather to become (re)acquainted and share.

Friday morning will begin with a dream circle, and

Saturday morning a tarot circle. Bring a dream that you feel is spiritually significant to you or to the group—especially one that Jung would call a Big Dream.

The program will include readings from, and discussion of, Franklin’s Experience and Philosophy. Please bring your copy, if you have one.

Saturday evening we will have a special program conducted by Sherie Palmer and Jennifer Young, followed by a candlelight ceremony.

The traditionalSunday morning meeting follows the format that Franklin and Sherifa used for many years. (Many dress more formally.) It will include Franklin’s recording of “Primordial Consciousness,” followed by discussion—then, the Closing Ceremony by Baiba Strads and a noon potluck.
